Word of the Year: Accomplish

I haven't done a word of the year since 2013. In 2013, my word was perseverance. This year my word is accomplish. There is so much I want to accomplish. Since I don't do yearly goals anymore, I don't want to limit myself to say I want to accomplish X amount of things in this coming year. Instead, I want to accomplish all of my small, monthly goals.

I used to think that I had to set goals every January. But, by June I never remembered half of them. Or some of them didn't apply to me anymore. Or some become very obviously unattainable based on situational changes. Monthly goals work so much better since they are small goals that should be accomplished in a month. Some goals carry over from month to month like "Stay on track with school work". That is one goal I must accomplish each month.

My plan for this year is to continue setting my small monthly goals. And accomplishing them. I just have to learn that I don't have to do everything all at once.

That Time I Was So Embarrassed...

I have never mentioned this event to anyone. Not even my husband. In 2013, we were in Louisiana on vacation. We were in Walmart. He was looking for a hoodie type coat. I was on a mission to find a belt for my son. I told him I was heading to the toddler section and would meet back up with him in the men's section. I quickly found the belt for my son and also found an adorable outfit for him. I went on my way back to the men's section to let him know I was done. I went right up to him and announced "I found what I was looking for and isn't this so adorable?"Imagine my surprise when I heard a voice that was not my husband's say, "Ummm... I think you have the wrong person." I finally looked at this person I had ran up to and realized it was not my husband but some random stranger. In my defense, he was wearing jeans and the same color t-shirt as my husband. I mumbled "Sorry" and quickly ran off. I found my husband looking for me in the toddler department. By that point I was ready to go in fear I would run into Mr. Stranger again....
