Wednesday Hodgepodge {Vol. XIV}

1. Did you watch The Charlie Brown Christmas special Monday night? Who's your favorite Peanuts character and why?

I did not. I really haven't watched many  holiday shows from my youth. I do have the book reserved to read to the kids. I may see if the library has a copy of the movie as well.

My favorite Peanuts character has always been Snoopy. When I was really little, I had a stuffed Snoopy (along with Woodstock and Belle). I carried them everywhere. There was clothes and everything for them. I searched online for a picture of them. If I had my photos from storage, I could post one from the Christmas I got them.

"Most psychiatrists agree that sitting in a pumpkin patch is excellent therapy for a troubled mind."~Linus

Would you agree?

It's not true for me. I'm not a big pumpkin patch person so I do not find that sitting in one would be excellent therapy for me. In fact, I'm not really an outdoorsy person at all.

2. Describe a sound from your childhood. What does this sound bring to mind?

The vacuum cleaner. This was how I was woken up every single Saturday morning of my childhood. Saturday was cleaning day in the house. Unfortunately, my mom believed vacuuming was best at 8 am on a weekend. To this day, I still have flashbacks every time I turn the vacuum on.

3. You've won a trip to a winter wonderland...would that excite you? Which one of the following would you most want to experience (or which one would you dislike the least)-see the Aurora Borealis in Norway, stay in Sweden's Ice Hotel, go dogsledding in Lapland Finland, take a winter wildlife safari in Yellowstone or celebrate Winter Carnival in Quebec?

I just looked these up. I would love to stay at the Ice Hotel in Sweden. The pictures are beautiful. I would also like to see the Aurora Borealis in Norway. Seeing the Northern Lights has always been on my bucket list.

4. Who or what keeps you humble?

God keeps me humble. The only reason I am who I am is because of Him and nothing I've done.

5. What part of preparing for Christmas do you like the most? Explain.

Making the plans. I seriously love making plans. I just hate having to execute these plans. I have already planned out 99% of Christmas 2015 (and had it planned since around September).

6. Gingerbread-yay or nay? Is making a gingerbread house part of your family holiday tradition?

We decorated a gingerbread house last year for the first time. Not sure if it's going to become a family tradition or not.

7. What's one thing you want to start, do, or complete before the calendar rolls into a new year?

I would really like to finish the first draft of my novel before 2016 rolls in. I am a little more than a fifth done with it. Maybe I can get it all written before the end of the month.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I cannot believe that it is already December. Wasn't it just January?? Where has this year gone?
