Wednesday Hodgepodge {Vol. X}

1. Besides Thanksgiving, something you're looking forward to on your November calendar?

Hmmmm... Not really sure. I don't really have anything scheduled for November. I guess I will have to say NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I'm working on writing 50,000 words for a novel.

2.  If I gave you a thank you card right now who would you send it to and why?

My grandmother. Just because she's the greatest grandmother ever and she still does things for me and the kids even though she doesn't have to.

3. Of the breads listed, which one's your favorite...bagel, cinnamon, sourdough, garlic, banana, biscuit, pita, Naan, or plain old fashioned white bread?

I can't eat gluten so the only bread I eat is gluten free bread. I really wouldn't call it a favorite, so none of the above.

4. What's something you have in abundance? Is that a good thing?

Magazines. I have like 10 issues of several different magazines. I need to go through them and purge some (if not all). My 5 year old has a couple of school assignments where he needs to locate letters in magazines so I'll get rid of them after we're done with those assignments.

5. November 5th is National Love Your Red Hair Day. Are there any redheads in your family? Who's your favorite redhead?

I am a fake red head. LOL I don't think I have any redheads in my family...

My favorite redhead is definitely Lucille Ball. I still watch the I Love Lucy reruns.

6.  The travel website Busbud recently calculated the most Instagrammed spot in every state. Go here to see what made the list where you live. Are you happy with your state's #1? If not what do you think should be the most photographed spot in your state? Have you snapped a photo there? If you live outside the USA answer as it relates to your state, city or province.

I was born and raised in Virginia. The top spot in that state is Virginia Beach. Yes, I have taken a photo from there, several times in fact. Those photos are packed up in storage so I cannot share that.

I consider Louisiana my home. The most instagrammed place there is Bourbon Street. I feel that it should be number one with the Super Dome coming in as second. I have also taken a photo on a part of Bourbon Street back in 2006.

I now live in North Carolina. The most instagrammed place is Charlotte Motor Speedway. I thought the Outer Banks or Biltmore Estate would have been the most, but I guess CMS ranks up there. I have taken pictures at the Speedway as well. We go there for Speedway Christmas (lights at the speedway) and I attended the Coca Cola 600 there this past May.

7. I'm going to try to have something related to gratitude in this spot each week during the month of November. Here's this week's question-

What's something you've learned about yourself this year that you're grateful for?

That I am human. So many people call me Super Mom because I was going to college/grad school, homeschooling my kids, and still being a wife. I hated having that label because I knew that it wasn't who I was. I have ended up taking six months off from school (beginning 10/27) because I just couldn't handle it all anymore.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

It's November 4th and I am already planning not only Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner but Halloween 2016 as well. I have some cool ideas for costumes for the kids, but am having a hard time talking them into it. I may also dress up next year as well. My plan is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Not fancy princess ball dress Belle, but brainy library Belle. I think I can pull it off.

I would have thought the Biltmore would be up there. It is funny what they have come up with in each state. The pressure people put on top of our own pressures and expectations are enough to cave anyone! Take the time to find that passion again. Oh and I thought I was one of the only few that are planning next year Halloween! Love that holiday! Stopping by from the HP
