Music Monday: Mr. Know It All

I have always liked this song since it was originally released.

                                     "Mr. Know It All"
                                             (By: Kelly Clarkson)

Mr. Know It All
Well ya think you know it all
But ya don't know a thing at all
Ain't it, ain't it something y'all
When somebody tells you something 'bout you
Think that they know you more than you do
So you take it down another pill to swallow

Mr. Bring Me Down
Well ya, ya like to bring me down, don't you?
But I ain't laying down, baby, I ain't goin' down
Can't nobody tell me how it's gonna be
Nobody's gonna make a fool out of me
Baby, you should know that I lead not follow

[Chorus:]
Oh you think that you know me, know me
That's why I'm leaving you lonely, lonely
'Cause baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me
You ain't got the right to tell me
When and where to go, no right to tell me
Acting like you own me lately
Yeah baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me

Mr. Play Your Games
Only got yourself to blame when you want me back again
But I ain't falling back again
'Cause I'm living my truth without your lies
Let's be clear baby this is goodbye
I ain't coming back tomorrow

[Chorus:]
Oh you think that you know me, know me
That's why I'm leaving you lonely, lonely
'Cause baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me
You ain't got the right to tell me
When and where to go, no right to tell me
Acting like you own me lately
Yeah baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me

[Bridge:]
So what you've got the world at your feet
And you know everything about everything
But you don't
You still think I'm coming back but baby you'll see yeah...

[Chorus:]
Oh you think that you know me, know me
That's why I'm leaving you lonely, lonely
'Cause baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me
You ain't got the right to tell me
When and where to go, no right to tell me
Acting like you own me lately
Yeah baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me

Mr. Know It All
Well ya think you know it all
But ya don't know a thing at all
Yeah baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me

Sunday Social: Getting Ready for the New Year

1. What is the best New Years Eve you've ever had?
I very rarely ever do anything for New Years. I think the only time I had done anything was 2000/2001. We got a sitter for oir only child at the time and we went back and forth between two parties. They were about 10 minutes between the two. One was hosted by my uncle and his friends; the other by my husband's boss (who was also a family friend).

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?
Nope, not a thing. We have 7 kids now and live  away from family. The likely hood of finding someone to watch all 7 of them is highly unlikely. Besides that, our finances have taken a hit the last couple of months. Besides, I think New Years parties are overrated.

3. Name a book we should all read come January?
The one I'm writing. ;) Ok, so it's not even finished yet and the likelihood of it being published is slim. I don't really know of a book. I need some suggestions though. I haven't really read a book for fun in awhile. I read a few of the free Kindle books in the last year, but nothing spectacular.

4. What are your new years resolutions?
Continue on my weight loss journey.
Do better with school (both mine and the kids).
Blog more consistently.
Finish my novel I am writing.
Begin a second in November for NaNoWriMo.

Sunday Social: Just a Few of my Favorite Things

1. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
I don't eat much ice cream anymore. But, I love Rocky Road and anything Mint Chocolatey. My all time favorite though is Bubble Gum ice cream that I got when I was younger at High's Ice Cream stores.

2. What is your favorite smell?
Baked goods in the oven: cookies, pies, breads, etc. Also love the smell of freshly bathed babies.

3. What is your favorite TV commercial? (Past or present)
I really don't like too many commercials. I try not to watch them and instead use the commercial time for other things. I really loved the "Where's the Beef?" Wendy's commercials from my youth.

4. What is your favorite day of the week?
I really don't have a favorite day of the week. While some say weekends, my weekends have no significance.

5. What is your favorite way to waste time?
Random researching, reading/writing blogs. Kind of like I am doing now. I should be writing a paper....

6. What is your favorite article of clothing?
I don't have just one. I love all my clothing equally. Most of my wardrobe is Saints (T-shirts, jerseys, tanks, etc), LSU (T-shirts, tanks, etc) and my T-shirts from Fleurty Girl. They are all my favorites.

Music Monday: Hall of Fame

I'm linking up at My So Called Chaos

This is the time of year when everyone is listening to Christmas music. But, I'm going to confess now. I don't really like Christmas music. At all. So, you will not be seeing Christmas selections from me. However, this is my new favorite song (ha! switched from two weeks ago). I love this song because it's about shooting for your dreams. Good message!

Hall of Fame

Fears!

See, I told you that I wouldn't be consistent with this. Maybe I should shoot for all 30 to be done before March!

Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

Fear #1: Lightening
When I was a little girl, I was at my grandparents' house during a thunderstorm. Lightening struck their house and it caught on fire. Ever since, I have been terrified of lightning storms. As a child, I would pack all my favorite possessions in a bag and keep the bag on me in case our house caught fire. Now, as an adult I am not so extreme. But, I suffer from anxiety whenever a storm is around.

Fear #2: Losing my Children
This is a very legitimate fear especially with all that is going on in the world these days. I am thankful for my babies each and every day. I honestly don't know how I could make it without them.

Fear #3: Not Finishing College
I am 34 years old and not yet finished with college. Not even my bachelors degree. I am supposed to finish that in 2014. But, I am terrified that something will stop me from going further. Then I'll be stuck with student loans and a bachelors degree that is really not going to help me get the job I want (need a graduate degree).

Stay Little A Little Longer

Photobucket

Prior to 2010, I had six children. I marveled in their accomplishments. I enjoyed watching them grow and hit developmental milestones. Then in 2010, I gave birth to my seventh child. For personal reasons, I knew that he would be my last child. Not only was this baby my last child but also my only son. He was my last chance to watch the milestones and accomplishments.

I cried when he wanted only a sippy cup at 9 months old. I cried when he uttered his first words and took his first steps. Then, almost overnight he went from first steps to all out running. I cried when he wanted nothing to do with baby food but wanted table food from the beginning. I wasn't ready for him to grow up.

I'm still not ready. Yesterday he went to his drawers and brought me an outfit. Pants, shirt and undies. And it all matched. He matched his clothes better at 2.5 years old than my 5 year olds do. I wanted to cry. He's not my baby much anymore. He's growing up into a smart and attentive boy. He counted to 5 for me. He has a fascination with gluing objects. And when I gave him a "fun" assignment to do while I taught the girls, he did better drawing than they did. He sings from memory. And a few months ago, he was doing this:

Photobucket

He was playing Angry Birds on my Kindle. AND BEATING LEVELS! He is so grown. I ask him if he's Mama's Baby and he says "No! I CJ!" And when I tell him he'll always be my baby, he reluctantly says "OK." But, he still hugs and kisses on mommy so I guess I am safe. For now.

Why does the youngest always grow up the fastest? Why can't I savor every moment of him being the baby? Sometimes I don't think it's fair how fast any of them grow but especially the last. He'll be 3 in February. He'll probably be acting like he's 6 by then....

The Ghosts of Lilburn?

When we lived in Maryland, I became obsessed with ghost stories since there were so many in our area. One day we decided to go out and see if we could locate any of the places I had read about.

This is Lilburn, one of Ellicott City's most beautiful and haunted houses. {Click here for the webpage about it} Since it was a inhabited home, there was no way we could even go near it. I took these pictures from the street.

Supposedly, you get instant eerie feelings just by looking at it. I never did. Some people claim they have photos with ghostly faces in windows; but no ghosts in my pictures.

This Ghost Story is UNKNOWN. I couldn't get near anything to even get a vibe about it.

Tasty Tuesday: Fiery Cajun Lemon Shrimp

Photobucket

I love me some shrimp. And I love cajun food. I fix this about once a week for myself. Yum, yum!

Ingredients:
  • Shrimp (I used a pound of medium shrimp), shelled
  • 3 lemons
  • Tabasco sauce
  • Cajun seasoning
Directions:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350*F.
  2. Slice two lemons into thin slices. Place lemon slices into bottom of 8x8 pan.
  3. Place shrimp on top of lemons. Cut the last lemon in half. Squeeze juice from the lemons over shrimp. Sprinkle with Cajun seasoning and Tabasco sauce, to taste.
  4. Bake at 350*F for about 20 minutes or until shrimp are translucent.

Music Monday: God Gave Me You

I am linked up with My So Called Chaos

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!!

                                     "God Gave Me You"

I've been a walking heartache
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately
Ain't who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm blows through
And I need you

Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

There's more here than what were seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me
You'll always be love's great martyr
And I'll be the flattered fool
And I need you
Yeah!

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

On my own I'm only
Half of what I could be
I can't do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you, gave me you
He gave me you
